I build systems
that hold at scale.

Software Development Engineer II at Amazon Books. I tune distributed systems for clarity and speed — and I'm happiest at the edge where engineering meets research.

Amazon

Found what everyone had stopped seeing. Surfaced a long-standing high-severity defect in a customer-facing engagement surface: 3M+ records still resolved through legacy infrastructure, so the follow control silently failed to load — leaving customers with no way to tell whether they were following an author, brand, or creator.
Scalable system design. Authored technical design docs for high-traffic personalisation features on a page reaching 300M annualised visitors — 600M worldwide.
Latency, quieted. Architected an endpoint-proxy for batch API calls, bypassing legacy limits to cut page latency ~50% — from 9–12s down to 4–6s.
Global reach. Shipped a feature on a central Amazon page, live across 12 major marketplaces and 37 locales, lifting global customer engagement by 6%.
Operational excellence. Led cross-functional deprecation of legacy infrastructure, reclaiming 2 developer-months of annual maintenance.

Deep learning in production. Built & optimised a deep neural network for CPU-usage anomaly detection, improving outlier-detection accuracy by 18%.
The refrain · what I keep returning to

The research thread runs through everything I ship.

I love the problems where statistics, systems, and shipping all have to agree — diving deep until an idea earns its place in production. That's meant shipping a feature on a central Amazon page live across 12 major global marketplaces, cutting page latency in half, and prototyping a deep neural net for anomaly detection. From that to a Caltech post-graduate certification program in AI & Machine Learning, curiosity is the through-line, not a side quest.
